Your Questions, Answered

  • Counselling 1-6 months : Start therapy when something comes up and we will work through that narrowed focus - tease apart the issue, find a way forward, and then integrate your approach.

Ongoing/longer term Psychotherapy: Come regularly for a unspecified period of time. Weekly or fortnightly sessions can build momentum in a body of therapy work.

One Time sessions: I also offer single longer sessions for particular issues. For example: birth trauma debrief, job or career concerns, questions around diagnosis or neurodivergence, or facing something that’s been sitting with you for a while. This is a targeted Solution Focused Approach.

We can find a rhythm that works for you.

Short-term work tends to be counselling — focused on a defined issue or a brief body of work to help you move forward. Longer-term work is psychotherapy, where we get into deeper personality change over time.

  • To change our relationships with others and with ourselves, the work has to happen within a relationship. The relationship between you and I becomes part of the work itself and becomes the in-session work.

If something does not land, or you feel hesitant or unsure at any point, I always want to hear about it. That is part of the work and not something to push through alone. When something feels off between us, or you feel misattuned to, it is important to bring that in. That moment becomes something we can work with, rather than something that quietly shuts things down.

The aim is not to re-enact relational difficulties, but to work through them. This is what a therapeutic relationship is. It is a practice ground for how you advocate for yourself, how you practise self-respect, and how you face conflict. It is not helpful for you to leave feeling that another person has not seen you or has let you down, or that the same pattern is simply repeating itself.

This is relational therapy. It is not a medical interaction.

  • Therapy offers a confidential space to explore experiences, patterns and questions that are difficult to navigate alone.

Some sessions focus on understanding patterns in relationships or emotional responses. Others may focus on processing specific experiences, developing new ways of responding to challenges, or exploring questions of meaning and direction.

The pace and focus centres you, and I am collaborative, honest, and straightforward. I’m here to guide the process, bring ideas to the table, and keep things moving.

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through the contact form or schedule a call - I’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way. You can book a session online through the website.

If you have questions before booking, you are welcome to get in touch via email. I also offer a free 15 minute call for new clients so we can check if we are a fit.

  • You don’t need to bring a clear explanation.

A sense that something needs attention is enough — along with a willingness to look a little ‘under the hood’.

    People often come in with:
    • life changes / crossroads — whether that’s a loss or some other kind of shift, the question becomes: how do I move forward now? This can be a confronting place to stand
    • relationship difficulties — all kinds: work, family, intimate, friendships, parenting
    • burnout or emotional overwhelm — whether from work or just life itself
    • questions around identity, meaning, or direction — when the ground underneath things feels less certain
